LASIK
LASIK, short for laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, is a type of refractive surgery for correcting myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), or astigmatism. The operation involves creating a thin flap on the eye and folding it to allow for the surgeon to remodel the tissue beneath the flap with a laser. The flap is repositioned and the eye is left to heal. LASIK is the most popular refractive surgery today because it is quick and relatively painless. Most patients see 20/20 the day after surgery.
Dr. Rhodes provides pre-operative evaluations to determine if you are a candiate for LASIK. Optique does not participate in the ownership of any laser center, and Dr. Rhodes has no incentive except to recommend the best doctor and equipment for your particular situation. Additionally, we will support you in your surgical experience and provide a comprehensive after-care program where we work closely with the surgeon to ensure your surgery goes as planned.
